Chapter One

(Uriedor - The Uriedorian Imperial Senate House)

The sun shined brightly on the green fields of Uriedor. The breeze caused a ripple on the thick grass, resembling that of the ocean. It was a beautiful sight, one that Bliss found herself daydreaming about.

She smiled down at the field from the conference hall of the Uriedorian Imperial Senate House. She wished nothing else but to be in that field, laying out with a good book. Her favorite past time was reading but lately, she didn't have time to read a book, much less look at one.

It was a crucial time in the Galaxy.

Coruscant had lost its beloved Jedi Temple and the Jedi, as well as their freedom to the Empire. Most worlds in the Galaxy are now under the leadership of the Emperor. But not Uriedor. It was the only place that the Emperor did not have.

Could not have.

Bliss stood her ground firm to not give Uriedor up. Maybe it was for selfish reasons. She didn't know, but she did know that she worked hard since she was 12 years old to get her planet where it is now. They were elite in everything they did and everything they were. They had some of the best soldiers in the Galaxy-trained since they were children and made into men and women.

The Uriedorians lived in peace and humbleness for lights years and more.

That was until the Emperor gave them an ultimatum: submit to him and his Empire or die.

Bliss remembered it as if it was yesterday. Word had gotten out to her people and soon it was chaos. She couldn't blame them, they were scared.

But she had to be scared the most. The freedom of her people rested upon her shoulders. And freedom at what cost? If she were to choose to submit to them, then she and her people will no longer be who they were as individuals. If she were to choose to go against the Emperor, could they stand against he and his army? What ever she chose to do, it had to be the right choice for her people. She was their Queen.

A knock on her door interrupted her thoughts.

"Come in." She waited for Commander Killiam to step forth. "Yes, Commander."

"My Queen." he said after he bowed to her. "We will escort you now if her Majesty desires so."

Bliss took a deep breath and put on her strong face. Her handmaidens helped her with her robe. Gone was Bliss Lazarus.

It was time for Queen Aecara.

She was escorted through the long corridor. Her eyes were straight forward. She was to be as curt and sincere as possible. She had a chance to meet Chancellor Palpatine in his time. He was a very intimidating man. Unfortunately, the Chancellor was no more. The Emperor was in his place now. Bliss was going to do everything in her power to stand her ground, no matter the choice she chose. The Emperor was a bully. And she was not going to be bullied by some force-hungry man who called himself the 'Emperor' of some empire.

Bliss fought back a yawn. She was terribly sleepy. Well, maybe that was an understatement. She hadn't had a good night's rest in a long time. Her father thinks it to be because of stress and long hours of work. She knew otherwise. For months, she'd been having the strangest of dreams. Dreams of a she and a boy. They were about seven years old. Then dreams of she and a man and he was to be her husband. Just by looking into his eyes, she knew it was the boy. The question was, who was he? She never saw anything else. Just the man's eyes.

She stopped before two guards in front of a double door. They quickly opened it for her and she walked into the throne room. With her sights straight forward, she walked the long distance to her throne, the people--senators and diplomats--all bowed to her.

When she approached her throne, Bliss turned around and sat down. "I thank you for taking time out of your busy days to meet with me. As you know, Coruscant has given over their system to the Emperor and his Empire. We are the last system within the Galaxy...the last free system." She took a deep breath before she continued. "I have made my decision. I have decided that we are not going to give over our freedom to the Emperor and his Empire."

The voices immediately erupted. Some were for her and others....were against her.

"How...how can this be? Why would you do this?" yelled Tinotin Cho, a senator of the lower system of Uriedor.

"I am certain that--"

"Have you not thought of your people?"

"Senator, I have thought long and hard--"

" The children?!" "That is enough Senator Cho! Last I checked, I am Queen and you are not! Now, I have thought long and hard on this. We have spent billions of light years in this system and have yet fallen to any evil and wars that have past us. Why should we fall now? Why should we give up our freedom so that some old man can have his victory? His power? Yes, I have thought of my people Senator Cho. Yes, I have thought of the children. We will stand and we will fight!"

Suddenly, a clapping of the hands could be heard in the foreground. "Well done Queen Aecara." He stepped forward into the light. "Well done, my child."

Bliss stood quickly, her eyes keening in on the person. Her lips thinned. "The Emperor."
